The Best Events in Los Angeles this March

FOX FINDS // The Best Events in Los Angeles this March

Posted by Bench Bookkeeping on

Planning for March in Los Angeles can be tricky. Not only is LA such an overwhelmingly large and diverse city, but March also falls during the awkward transition between winter and spring, leaving many of us stumped for ideas. That’s where BOXFOX’s curated March calendar comes in. We have searched far and wide to bring you the best events that LA has to offer that will satisfy the artist, activist, foodie, athlete, and philanthropist in each of you.

Best Things to do in LA // BOXFOX M A R C H  3 First Fridays // Venice

Celebrate the new month at First Friday’s on Abbot Kinney. Businesses stay open late, so shop around, grab a sushi burrito from one of the many food trucks lining the street and then head to The Other Room for a drink.

M A R C H  4 GIRLBOSS Rally // Downtown

We are all about GIRL BOSSES here at BOXFOX and are so excited to head down to the GIRLBOSS Rally to be a part of a community of females who kick a** everyday. Network with over 500 inspiring women, enjoy delicious food, and listen to amazing speakers share their experiences in business, life, success, and everything in between.

M A R C H  5 Cupcake and Macaron Tour of Beverly Hills // Beverly Hills

Indulge in sweets and walk them off at the same time at the Cupcake and Macaron tour of Beverly Hills. It is a little on the pricier side, but well worth it for the delicious treats. (hint* check out groupon for a discount)

M A R C H  6 Alec Baldwin’s Here’s the Thing Podcast Live with Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally // The Theatre at Ace Hotel

Check out the live taping of Alec Baldwin’s killer podcast, Here's the Thing. AKA spend the night hanging out with the funnier Donald Trump, Ron, and Tammy 2/Karen.

M A R C H  8 Women’s March // Coming to a Neighborhood Near You

Join a community of strong, inspired men and women and stand up for what you believe in. We will be there, marching, right alongside you.

M A R C H  1 0 ArtNight // Downtown Pasadena

While Pasadena might not come to mind when we think of LA's greatest art scene, the city holds an impressive number of under the radar art centers and museums, several of which will be opening their doors to the public for free on March 10th. There will also be live music, entertainment, free shuttles all night, and colorful light installations (it's lit).

M A R C H  1 2 Daylight Savings // Spring Forward

We may lose an hour of sleep, but we gain so much joy! We can’t wait for an extra hour of sunlight– cue BBQ season.

M A R C H  1 6 Happy Hour Week // Old Pasadena

Dozens of restaurants and bars in Old Pasadena will be extending their happy hours and offering special tasting, flights, and pairings. This event technically spans from March 6th through March 17th, but we recommend you head out on #ThirstyThursday to get the full experience.

M A R C H  1 8 Heal the Bay Beach Cleanup // Will Rogers State Beach

Save the fishies! You can register here to enjoy a beautiful day at the beach while getting involved with an awesome cause. Added bonus– you can grab lunch out one of the tons of beachfront restaurants nearby when you’re done.

M A R C H  2 1 Judd Apatow & NOTHING But Judd Apatow // Largo at the Coronet

Judd Apatow (aka the mastermind behind Superbad, This Is 40, Knocked Up, The 40 Year Old Virgin, etc.) will be taking the stage for a stand up show you won’t want to miss. PS: Say hi to CEO Chelsea while you’re there, she’ll be sitting front row.

M A R C H  2 4 ¡Latin Food Festival! // Santa Monica

Spanning from March 24th to the 25th, the ¡Latin Food Festival! is the largest annual celebration of Hispanic food in the US. Delicious latin food, wine, the beach, and some of the most talented chefs in LA– sign me up.

M A R C H  2 6 CicLAvia // Culver City to Venice

On March 26th, LA’s annual CicLavia will close down streets from Culver City through Venice Beach and open up the roads for cyclists, skateboarders, pedestrians, and rollerbladers to use recreationally. Don’t worry, this isn’t a race (no need to train), but rather a unique opportunity to explore the streets of LA on foot, rather than through your window on the 405.

M A R C H  2 9 Breaking News: Turning the Lens on Mass Media // The Getty Center

The pieces in this art installation at the Getty comment on the role of news media from the 1960s through now. They also reflect the increasing role of news media as inspiration for artists over the past 50 years. This exhibit runs through April 30th, and is guaranteed to be interesting #NotFakeNews
