How to Stay Motivated to Workout

You made it through the 4th but lets not forget there are still two months of summer left. We hope these five quick, easy tips will help you stay motivated for the remainder of the summer. 

They say, “you will never regret a workout.” This is something we all know yet forget all too easily and quickly when life (aka Netflix, wine, and beauty sleep) gets in the way. Finding the motivation to get yourself to the gym day after day doesn’t come easy; trust us we feel your pain. Here at BOXFOX HQ, we believe the best cure is to find what works best for you individually.

These are some of our top tips for staying motivated to MOVE: 

Gym Partners: Making gym dates with a friend not only keeps you accountable to show up but also kills two birds with one stone to get in some quality friend time.

Premade Workout Plans: When the struggle of ‘what to do in the gym’ arises premade workouts provide a simple and beneficial solution. Some of our favorites are HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) by Kayla Itsines and Tone It Up.

Workout Classes: A quick fix to ensuring a good sweat and soreness the next day. Some of our favorites are: spin classes at SoulCycle, hot yoga at Bikram Yoga, and barre classes at Pure Barre (personal favorite!).

 Sign Up for a Race: Deadlines aren’t just for college finals and papers. Nothing motivates a type A person more than the fear of procrastination. And a monetary loss is irritating to everyone. So sign up for that 10k or half marathon you’ve wanted to complete. Our favorite is the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in San Francisco, you get a Tiffany’s necklace after crossing the finish line, need we say more?
