Curation Inspo // Back To School, Back To Cool !

Posted by Sarah Trenton on

Here at BOXFOX HQ, we all grew up admiring the smart (and cool) schoolgirls from our favorite movies and TV shows. We’ve decided to ask everyone in HQ to share who their all-time FAVORITE fictional smart girl was growing up! To make it even more fun, they’ve each curated a BOXFOX inspired by their fav fictional smart schoolgirl character to gift to someone they know who needs a little girl-power pick-me-up to kick off the Fall!

CHELSEA // Mrs. Frizzle From The Magic School Bus

“Mrs. Frizzle is the character that reminds me the most of school because I learned so much from the Magic School bus (honestly, who didn’t?!) One of my favorite episode is when they take the bus to space. We have so much cosmic-adjacent goodness on the site, so I curated an elevated cosmic curation to send to my little sister Corine who could use the star power as she starts her second year of post college life.

Ted Baker // Voyager’s Luggage Tag
Hay // Mini Mint Hourglass

SABENA // Cher From Clueless

“Cher is pretty much every 90’s kids girl crush, and I can’t pretend that I’m not part of that club. I created this box because it’s the perfect blend of 90210 palm-and-pale blue vibes and Cher’s always on-point attitude. I’d send this to my bestie who just started a new job for a much-needed essentials refresh and a reminder that we’ve all got a little Cher in us.”

GRACE // Topanga From Boy Meets World:

“Back to school reminds me of getting back to my regularly scheduled tv programming (hi September we’ve been patiently waiting!). My necessary “only child alone time” in front of the TV immediately after school meant one thing - BOY MEETS WORLD. Topanga was an idol from an early age - her brilliance, friendships, and that jaw dropping makeover hair cut were inspirational. This box has all of Topanga’s essentials, from DryBar products to keep that early 90s hair on point (what did they say back in the 90s? haha) to Coco Rose lip polish so she can draw hearts on hers and Cory’s face”

JENNI // Hermione From Harry Potter

Hermione, of course! She's the definition of a bookworm, but over the years at Hogwarts she blossoms as she figures out how to do it all. The hourglass in this curation is a nod to Hermione’s time-turner, and the gold desk essentials are so Gryffindor. English Breakfast Tea ties everything together. For those of us who can’t jump through time, a little caffeine goes a long way when you still need to get everything done!

I’d gift this box to one of my closest friends Erica, who’s in her first few weeks of PA school at Duke. She gets to experience real life adult back to school this fall, the really, really hard kind.  As she starts this new program, I want her to know that she has the essentials she needs AND her best friends supporting her. Plus I know she’d love the thought behind this curation because she loves Harry Potter just as much as I do!
