Welcome to another edition of Ask the Expert, where we answer our customers’ questions about all things gifting. This week we’re chatting corporate branding and how to give the gift of SWAG without overwhelming your recipient.
We received this question from a loyal FOX last week: “Hey BOXFOX! I love your gifts and packaging, but I’m wondering if you can put my logo on the items or in the box. What are your branding capabilities and how do you recommend adding my company’s logo in a tasteful way?”
This is such a good question and one that’s especially relevant with the holidays rapidly approaching. We know branding is often a must-have for our clients and we have the following tips for making it elevated, beautiful and impactful.
We always try to tell our clients less is more because, honestly, we’ve all been there: we show up to a conference or some other event and receive a giant bag of items we’ll probably never use except to work out in or wear to bed. The best way to guard against this is to remember that with every gift you want to provide an experience. What is the overall message you’re trying to send and how can you convey that? Once you’ve aligned on the items that provide that cohesive moment, you can choose one or two to brand that will stand out but not overwhelm. The most important thing to remember is that your clients will remember you and your brand for how the box made them feel over how many branded items there were.
Purpose and Functionality
When we work with our clients on a branded element we typically like to choose an item that will be used daily by the recipient or upgrade their life in a specific way. Branding an item like a gold wine glass, corkscrew or leather cord wrap will work harder for you than a disposable item like popcorn or candy and, if you think about it, will serve as word of mouth marketing for your brand — especially if it’s something that your clients, teams or partners already have a need or a reason to use proudly every day.
Think outside the box
We have a ton of clients come to us who either have a strict budget and can’t necessarily work the added cost of branding into their bottom line OR would prefer to not brand anything in the box but still want the gift to work on behalf of their brand. This is where our suite of customization options come in handy. We offer a myriad ways to incorporate your logo or brand colors in and around the box. Some of our favorites include:
- Box bands: a wrap that fits over the outside of the box with your brand prominently featured
- Logo tags: a card stock tag printed with your logo that ties into our signature bow
- Custom ribbon: incorporate your brand colors in an eye catching way
- Collateral inserts: whether you want to add your logo to our handwritten notes, print a double-sided message or give them some reading material — these are all great ways to make the product feel cohesive
